Inside Trading – Just 4 U: 13th Floor New Song Of The Day

Auckland-based downbeat producer Inside Trading has teamed up once  again with UK’s boom-bap turntablist maestro Mista Ed for a soulful,  scratch-filled instrumental hip hop gem called Just 4 U.

Coming hot on the heels of two acclaimed ‘chill-hop’ singles in 2024, and signing to  London-based Millennium Jazz Music for the duo’s Puzzle Without A Picture EP (2025),  which Muzic.NZ said “brings back the halcyon days of acid-jazz… my current go-to in  the man cave, as I set up my cocktail mixes and fire up the lava lamp.” (Aug 2025) 

Their first release for 2026, Just For U, is a snappy, piano-led hip hop joint with 70’s flavoured samples, fretless bass guitar and spoken word snippets cut-up live on wax.

Inside Trading – the producer alias of John Faulding – started as a ‘lockdown collab’ network between  musicians during Covid lockdown. Mista Ed has been making music since the late 90s and his  turntablism and production has been seen on releases alongside artists such as A-Trak, MC Random,  Dazzie Dee, and Jurassic 5.
