About Authority Zero:
Formed in Mesa, Arizona in 1994, Authority Zero have built a lasting reputation as one of the most dynamic and hardworking bands in punk. Blending skate punk, melodic hardcore, reggae, and Latin influences, the band’s sound is both distinctive and deeply rooted in the DIY spirit of the genre.
Fronted by Jason DeVore, Authority Zero first gained international attention with their 2002 debut album A Passage in Time (Lava Records), which introduced their energetic mix of styles and earned them a loyal following. The band went on to tour extensively across the United States and internationally, appearing on the Warped Tour and sharing stages with acts such as Everclear, Guttermouth, and Sum 41.
Over the past three decades, Authority Zero have continued to evolve while staying true to their core identity. Their discography includes Andiamo (2004), 12:34 (2007), Stories of Survival (2010), The Tipping Point (2013), Broadcasting to the Nations (2017), Persona Non Grata (2018), and Ollie Ollie Oxen Free (2021) — each release reflecting growth in both sound and message. The band’s music combines the urgency and speed of skate punk with the rhythmic sway of reggae and the melodic sensibility that defines their songwriting.
At the heart of Authority Zero’s success is their powerful live presence. Known for high-energy performances and a strong connection with audiences, the band have maintained an unwavering touring ethic that has seen them perform across North and South America, Europe, and Japan. Their music and message centre on perseverance, unity, and the belief in carving your own path — principles that continue to resonate with fans worldwide.
After more than thirty years together, Authority Zero remain a force in modern punk, balancing experience and intensity with the same drive that launched them out of Arizona’s desert scene in the 1990s.
