Evie Bamford – Through The Day: 13th Floor New Song Of The Day
Following the success of her jazzy debut, Money Bag, Tāmaki Makaurau-based indie rock artist Evie Bamford returns with Through the Day, a rich and introspective new single.

Self-produced and lush with layered instrumentation, the track weaves cello (Gemma Henderson), clarinet and vocal harmonies (Evie, James MacEwan) into an expansive and warm soundscape that reflects Evie’s classical roots.
Mixed by Tom Broome and mastered by Josh Llewellyn (Downbeat Mastering), the single also features Jeremy Richardson (drums), Rory Johns (keyboard) and Hugo Butler (bass).
Through the Day marked a turning point for Evie – the first song she wrote that fully captured the sound she had been aiming for after years of songwriting. Built around a quietly defiant refrain “I’m just trying to get through the day,” the track pairs vulnerable lyricism with a soaring arrangement.
Evie says:
“I wrote Through the Day not long after starting my first full-time job. It was a shock to my system and suddenly all I could focus on throughout the day was waiting for it to end.
I’ve always loved being someone who has a romantic view on life. This song came out of a fear that I was losing that part of me to a mundane routine and the inevitability of growing up.”

Evie Bamford is a guitarist, clarinettist, vocalist and indie songwriter from Tamaki Makaurau, Aotearoa, drawing on a background in jazz and classical music to create songs that blend indie rock with warm, colourful instrumentation.
Her debut single Money Bag (released November 2025) introduced her distinctive sound, earning glowing reviews from Empty Spaces, Le Futurewave (Netherlands), Welcome to the Gig and more.
Evie has built a dedicated local following through her uplifting live performances, with highlights including opening for Serebii at Double Whammy, headlining Public Service and supporting international folk-rock artist Tyler Hilton.
